I have often noticed that we take the places we live in, the history that surrounds us, the culture and heritage that makes us us for granted. When travelling to a new place, we always have our lists of places to visit, people to meet, food to try and things to learn ready and at our disposal. We are prepared either with research or with the idea of unfolding things by getting lost within the borders of that place. But most of us, myself included, don’t do the same with our cities.
And if you happened to live in a city like Delhi with an endless lists of sites to see, history to soak in, diversity to dwell into, tastes to savour, and so much more, just like me you’d be surprised at how little have you tried. You may have ticked off many items from the lists as a school student on a field trip, but when was the last time you became a tourist in your own city and enjoyed what it had to offer?
